Hayley Bartels is a multi-platform, visual journalist and editor in New York. She holds a Master's in Visual Journalism from the University of Missouri School of Journalism. She is a former photo/video intern at NPR in Washington D.C., and more recently worked with the photo department at Rolling Stone magazine in New York. Hayley continues to work as a freelance photojournalist, editor, and digital producer for international news outlets and publications.
Originally from the midwest, she earned her bachelor's degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara in English and Art History with a specialization in American Cultures and Global Contexts. She has traveled throughout Europe, Central and South America, and worked in film production in London, Chicago, and Los Angeles before pursuing a graduate degree in journalism and media studies. Hayley has a special interest in exploring cultural and social representations in music and its counter cultures. She also really, really likes pizza.
Hayley is currently based in Brooklyn NY but also works out of Los Angeles and elsewhere.
